Slide presentations about the birds, forest conservations, and local tourism opportunities were given in in the communities of Samac and Raxquix.

PROEVAL RAXMU Bird Monitoring Program has designed a poster about the birds of the Sierra Sacranix, which gives information to the local villagers and to national and international visitors. A checklist of the birds of Sanimtacá is a byproduct of PROEVAL RAXMU's continous effort monitoring of bird populations.

PROEVAL RAXMU Bird Monitoring Program designed a brochure to promote tourism in Sanimtacá, printing was funded by FEDECOVERA and FONAGRO.

The PROEVAL RAXMU bird census takers are highly skilled in identifying and finding birds, especially by their calls and songs. This ability makes them excellent local birding guides. Sacranix is a birding hotspot in Guatemala, which helps to provides additional income opportunities to local farmers:

In Sacranix, a collaboration was established between Peace Corps and PROEVAL RAXMU. PROEVAL RAXMU bird census takers receive special training on general skills for guiding tourists, and in turn they give special training to other local tourist guides to find and identify the most conspicuous birds.
